35+ farmers’ markets in Eastern Ontario and West Quebec

If your idea of the perfect summer outing is a morning spent sniffing strawberries, sampling gluten-free cookies and chatting up farmers about the best ways to cook beets, you’re probably pretty familiar with your local farmers’ market. But if you’d like to shake up your weekly routine a bit, here are more than 35 farmers’ markets to check out within an easy drive of Ottawa (some are inside the city itself). But be forewarned: You may acquire some new tastes that will require regular road trips to satisfy!

  • Almonte: Parking lot of the public library, Saturdays, Victoria Day weekend to Thanksgiving weekend, 8:30am to 12:30pm.
  • Aylmer: Parc Commemoratif, Broad and Main streets, Sundays, June 5 to October 2, 10am to 3pm.
  • Belleville: Market Square, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, year round, 8am to 5pm.
  • Bristol: MacLellan Park, Norway Bay Beach, Saturdays, May 21 until early fall, 10am to 2pm.
  • Brockville: Market Street West, Saturdays, May 7 to December 17, 8am to 1pm.
  • Carleton Place: Market Square, corner of Beckwith Street and Lake Avenue, Saturdays, May 7 to October, 8:30am to 12:30pm.
  • Carp: Carp Fairgrounds, Saturdays, May 7 until late October, 8am to 1pm.
  • Chelsea: Meredith Centre, 23, chemin Cecil, Thursdays, June 2 to October 13, 4pm to 7pm.
  • Cobden: Cobden Fairgrounds, Saturdays, May 21 until October, 8am to noon.
  • Cornwall (Cornwall Kinsmen Farmers’ Market): St. Lawrence College, 2 St. Lawrence Drive, Sundays, May 29 to October 30, 11am to 3pm.
  • Cumberland: Cumberland Arena, 1115 Dunning Road, Saturdays, June 11 to October 8, 9am to 1pm.
  • Eganville: Legion Memorial Field, 8 Foran Street, Fridays, June 17 to Thanksgiving weekend, 2pm to 5pm.
  • Gananoque: Details on 2022 season to come.
  • Harrowsmith (Frontenac Farmers’ Market): 4500 Centennial Park Road, Saturdays, 9am to 2pm (to be confirmed).
  • Hull (Marché du Plateau): Parc Central, 205, rue de Bruxelles, Saturdays, June 4 to October 1, 9am to 2pm.
  • Hull (Marché Vieux-Hull): Parc Moussette, 361 boul. de Lucerne, Thursdays, June 2 to October 13, 9:30am to 2:30pm.
  • Kemptville: 200 Sanders Street (at Rideau and Oxford Streets), Sundays, May 15 to late October, noon to 4pm.
  • Kanata: 745 Kanata Avenue, Saturdays, May 7 to October 29, 9am to 3pm.
  • Killaloe: Winter market: Killaloe Lions Hall, 18 Lake Street, the first Saturday of the month, November to June, 10am to 2pm; summer market: Killaloe Lions Field, 1 Lions Lane, every Saturday, mid-June to Thanksgiving weekend, 9am to 1pm.
  • Kingston (Kingston Public Market): Springer Market Square, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, April through November, 9am to 6pm.
  • Kingston (Memorial Centre Farmers’ Market): 303 York Street, Sundays, year round, 9am to 2pm (May to October), 10am to 2pm (November to April).

  • Long Sault: Long Sault Plaza, Fridays, details to be confirmed.
  • Manotick: Carriage Shed parking lot (across the street from Watson’s Mill, 5525 Dickinson Street), Saturdays, June 4 to October 8, 9am to 2pm.
  • Maxville: 4 Main Street, Fridays, May 20 until early October, 2pm to 6pm.
  • Metcalfe: Metcalfe Fairgrounds, 2821 Eighth Line Road, Saturdays, May 7 to October 15, 9am to 1pm.
  • Navan: Navan Fairgrounds, 1279 Colonial Road, last Sunday of each month from April to September, 10am to 3pm.
  • Orleans (Ray Friel): Ray Friel Recreation Complex, 1585 Tenth Line, Thursdays, May 19 to October 27, 11am to 4pm.
  • Ottawa (Alta Vista Market): St. Thomas the Apostle Anglican Church, 2345 Alta Vista Drive, Saturdays, June 25 to October 8, 9am to 1pm.
  • Ottawa (Barrhaven Market): Nepean Woods Park and Ride, corner of Strandherd and Crestway drives, Sundays, May 29 to October 30, 10am to 2pm.
  • Ottawa (Barrhaven Farmers’ Market): The Log Farm, 670 Cedarview Road, Saturdays, May 21 until October 8, 9am to 2pm.
  • Ottawa (Beechwood Market): Stanley Park Fieldhouse, 203 Stanley Avenue, Saturdays, June 4 until October 8, 9am to 2pm.
  • Ottawa (ByWard Market): York and George streets, daily, year round, 9am to 5pm. On Thursdays from June 9 until September 1, there’s also a night market from 5pm to 9pm.
  • Ottawa (Carlington Market): Carlington Coffee House, 917 Merivale Road, pop-ups happening throughout the summer (check the website for details).
  • Ottawa (Elgin Street Market): Boushey Square, 211A Waverley Street, Sundays, June 19 to October 9, 9am to 1pm.
  • Ottawa (Main Farmers’ Market): 210 Main Street, Saturdays, May 14 to October 29, 9am to noon (online pre-orders encouraged but you can also buy onsite).
  • Ottawa (Ottawa Farmers’ Market): Lansdowne Park, 1015 Bank Street, Sundays, year round, 9am to 3pm (hours may be shorter in winter).
  • Ottawa (Organic Farmers’ Market): 3191 Riverside Drive (Riverside United Church), Saturdays, 50 weeks a year, 10am to noon.
  • Ottawa (Parkdale Market): Parkdale Avenue between Wellington and Armstrong streets), daily, May to November, 9am to 5pm. There’s also a night market on Wednesdays from June through August, from 4pm to 8pm. In addition, you can buy usually Christmas trees and wreaths from late November until just before Christmas.
  • Ottawa (Richmond Road Market): Churchill Seniors’ Centre parking lot, 345 Richmond Road, Thursdays, July 7 to October 6, 4pm to 8pm.
  • Ottawa (Westboro): Byron Linear Park, Saturdays, May 21 to October 29, 9am to 3pm.
  • Ottawa (York Street): Saturdays, May 7 to October 8, 9am to 2pm.
  • Pembroke: Corner of Lake and Victoria Streets, Wednesdays and Saturdays, mid-May to Thanksgiving, 9am to noon.
  • Perth (Crystal Palace): Saturdays, May 7 to October 8, 8am to 1pm.
  • Perth (Ecotay Education Centre): 133 Menzies Munroe Side Road, select Sundays (May 22, June 12, July 3, July 31, September 4, and October 9), 10am to 4pm.
  • Quyon/Luskville: Dates and locations vary; check the market’s Facebook page for details.
  • Renfrew: Low Square (in front of Renfrew Town Hall), Saturdays, beginning May 28; more details to come.
  • Sharbot Lake: Oso Park (Sharbot Lake Beach), Saturdays, July 2 to September 24, 9am to noon. (Tentative as I type this in mid-May; please check the link to confirm.)
  • Stittsville: Log Cabin in Village Square Park, 6000 Abbott Street East, Sundays, May 8 to October 30, 9am to 1pm.
  • Vankleek Hill: Vankleek Hill Community Centre, 36 Mill Street, Saturdays, year round, 9:30am to 12:30pm.
  • Wakefield: Centre Wakefield La Pêche, 38 chemin de la Vallée de Wakefield, Saturdays, May 14 to October 15, 9am to 1pm.
  • Winchester: Details to come.

I think the one on Centrum Boulevard isn’t running anymore, unfortunately. The one in Cumberland is on the list, though. Or is there another one I’m missing?

Hi Laura,

Could you please add Killaloe Farmer’s Market. Located on Highway 60, between Eganville & Barry’s Bay. Saturday mornings 9am – 1pm. Open June 17 – Thanksgiving. Live music, breakfast, lunch & snacks available. Also indoor flee market & farmhouse musuem on site.
