Did you know that you will receive a $100 Visa gift card if you book a two-night stay in one of more than 30 Ottawa hotels in the next few months?
That’s just the newest of a range of promotions designed to encourage people to travel within Ottawa and Gatineau this year. Here are just a few of the discounts and deals available on staycations in the National Capital Region.
It’s On Us: A $100 gift card
Ottawa Tourism’s It’s On Us promotion is pretty straightforward. Book a stay of two nights or longer in one of the featured hotels—which include accommodations as diverse as the HI Ottawa Jail Hostel, two Comfort Inns, the Swiss Hotel, the Novotel Ottawa, the Andaz Ottawa ByWard Market, the Westin Ottawa and the Fairmont Château Laurier—and you’ll get a $100 Visa gift card that you can spend on anything you like. (Naturally enough, the promoters are hoping you’ll use it at local restaurants, museums and attractions.)
To qualify, you need to book a stay of at least two consecutive nights at the same hotel by September 30, 2020, and travel by December 31, 2020. Your gift card will be waiting for you when you check in. Terms and conditions apply; see the It’s On Us website for details.
#MyOttawa Pass: Discounts galore
Another Ottawa Tourism local travel program has just been extended until September 7, 2020! The #MyOttawa Pass gives Ottawa residents discounts and deals on a wide range of local attractions and activities. For instance, you can get $10 off a two-person registration for a C’est Bon Cooking food tour; 20% off a summer tour with the Haunted Walk of Ottawa; $15 off an OWL Rafting whitewater trip; 20% off at the Ottawa Art Gallery gift shop; or 15% off a visit to the Jigsaw Escape Rooms.
So how do you get these deals? Just download the free app to your smartphone and follow the instructions.
Tourisme Outaouais: Packages and deals
The packages and promotions page on the Tourisme Outaouais website features all sorts of discounts, which currently (as I write this on July 30) include up to 25% off a visit to the Eco-Odyssée water maze and up to 25% off a round of golf at Fairmont Le Château Montebello. There are lots of hotel packages available, too.
