How to support your local sugarbush

Like many other businesses, maple sugarbushes in Eastern Ontario, the Outaouais and beyond have been devastated by the events of the last two years. Traditional maple festivals and pancake houses have been tricky to run.

However, you can’t just tell a maple tree to stop producing sap! All that sweet goodness is still coursing through the local sugar maples, and the folks who bottle maple syrup and make sugar, taffy and candy are eager to sell their products to those who love the sweet stuff.

Want to support your local maple syrup producer? Check this list of Ontario maple sugar producers and Quebec cabanes à sucre to find out how you can buy their products online or at local stores. (In 2022, a few sugarbushes are also offering sugar season events; check this post for details on those.)

And, as always, if I’ve overlooked your favourite place, let me know and I’ll do my best to include it.
