Today’s Canada 150 photo is by no means my best photo ever. I’ve always liked it, though, because it encapsulates some of my favourite things to enjoy on a road trip: cycling, summer, blue skies, water, fun company and a wide-open road. I took this shot near Aylmer, Quebec, in June 2015, on a trip with Escape Bicycle Tours. (You can read more about that adventure in this post.) That’s Hollie Grace Davies of Ottawa blog Lotsa Local Love on the left, and Escape owner Maria Rasouli on the right.
Escape offers a wide range of bike trips in the Ottawa area, and you don’t even have to own a bike—they provide everything, right down to the helmets and Power Bars. It’s a great way to do an in-town road trip!
Disclosure: I participated in this trip as a guest of Escape Bicycle Tours, which neither reviewed nor approved this post.
Throughout July and August 2017, I’ll be posting one photo a day (more or less) that I’ve taken somewhere across Canada, in celebration of Canada’s 150th anniversary. Want to see more photos in this series? Click the “Canada 150 photo” text in bold near the top of this post.
